X School for Boys Teaches Character and Skills That Build the Men Who Will Build America – RedState

The comments on “Feel-Good Friday” last week were interesting, to say the least. While some included a lot of beautiful stories and information about how their community reached out to those experiencing tragedy, imperfection, or just holes in their lives, there were also a lot of detractions. Everyone has a special response to people’s stories of difficulty and hardship, but not all of them are positive or helpful.

If you missed my point, here’s the takeaway: It’s great when individuals, churches, and communities come together local The community helps those in need. Full stop. Despite anyone’s best efforts, things happen. My family has gone through periods where tragic things happened, most of which were not of our choosing or of our making. If it were not for the individuals, our church, our family, our close friends, and our colleagues who have supported us in so many ways, we would not be here today. There are many people who are legitimately in need, stuck in a cycle, and could raise their hand. These people also appreciate when that help is provided, and even more so, when they are given the opportunity to help themselves.

It is unfortunate that the more government intervention increases, the more problems and issues become exacerbated, rather than resolved. We’re seeing this happen with this lockdown debacle. Government is the problem, rarely the solution.

But what is happening in our nation is also a reflection of the younger generation, which is focused on what the government and others can do for them rather than on what they can do for themselves. I talk to my Gen He was taught, rather than caught. I think a lot of my friends expected that because they exemplified the work ethic and self-sufficiency for their children, that their children would automatically get it. Some do, but unfortunately, this is not the case across the board. Alongside the public school system, social groups, and even churches that prefer to promote victimhood, anger, and subordination, we have the people who voted in the trainwreck as New York’s mayor-elect.

But it’s a feel-good message, and here it is: A young man from Generation Z in Albany, Georgia, choosing to be the exception, is the subject of this week’s Feel-Good Friday.

Hats off to my lovely colleague and editor, Stacy Matthews, aka Sister Toldja, for shooting this idea down.

This quote is attributed to Frederick Douglass“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” Whether Douglass said it or not, it is a statement of fact. We witness the results of broken men in every bad government policy forced down our throats. Policies that, as we are seeing in real time, fall apart once you change parties and run out of people to tax.

That’s why community members working to improve their cities and neighborhoods by building strong kids should be highlighted and honored. King Randall is one of these heroes. His X School for Boys makes a huge difference in everyone’s lives – especially the boys who go to the school.

Keira Davis, our friend and former editor here at RedState, wrote about King Randall W Tenth School for Boys In 2022. Randall was 22 years old at the time, and he did what the Department of Education, spending millions of dollars, couldn’t do: engage young minds, teaching them discipline, character, and necessary skills, like learning to read.

What a concept.

Randall is the founder and president of School X for Boys, a non-profit mentoring program located in Albany, Georgia. King founded the program when he looked around and saw too many young people, many of them orphans, with nothing to do and no good place to go to find purpose and value. He didn’t see anyone around him offering guidance, so he rolled up his sleeves and started X School for Boys.

Shortly after Randall started school, he came toe-to-toe with celebrity stalker and racing con man Roland Martin.

Martin slides into irrelevance, and Randall continues to cling strongly to his purpose and principles. In 2023, a severely deformed person decided he didn’t like what Randall was doing and sabotaged his facility, causing thousands in damage.

But Randall kept working and stayed focused on building men up so they could build the lives they wanted. In 2025, School X is still growing strong and doing amazing things for Albany and ultimately the nation. Randall teaches these children that they are the heroes of their own story. No one is coming to save them, and if they learn right, plan right, and build right, using the skills they have learned and the talents God has given them to achieve them, they can go far.

Teaching our boys how to fix a hole in the wall, which is basic home maintenance every man should know.

While others project negativity, we continue to teach, build, and lead.

This is how you raise builders, not complainers. Heroes, not victims. This is how you build America.

Although the comprehensive school focuses on boys, Randall believes the entire community should be educated. Someone in the Albany community asked Randall to teach the young women some basic vehicle maintenance, because Triple-A was neither affordable nor reliable.

He watches:

Someone asked me if I would teach a group of young ladies basic vehicle maintenance – of course I said yes.

We teach skills, not excuses. Because confident, capable women make families stronger — and that makes America stronger.

Randall still stands for faith, family, and America. And what is more American than teaching others independence, self-sufficiency, and purpose? I love the smile on this little boy’s face as he prays over lunch. More of this, please.

Like Hillsdale College, Randall does not receive any government funding or grants. The school is donor-supported and community-fueled. One person with severe TDS offered Randall $20,000, but only if he denied anything to do with President Donald Trump or MAGA.

Here is Randall’s response.

He watches:

While some people demand that the government, political or social movement give them things to change their lives and circumstances, King Randall shows a different path. Something most of us knew when we were children, and it should become the norm again, not the exception.

Editor’s noteSchumer closes here. Instead of putting the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats imposed a government shutdown of health care for illegal immigrants. They own this.
