This looks like a turning point for Chicago dance. Some of the city’s most landmarks celebrate the presentation of landmarks, as Jovri defines the seventieth anniversary of its founding – and 30 years in Chicago. ENseble Español, which is described as one of the best Spanish dance organizations in the world, starts in its fifty season this fall, which is close to Hubbard Street Dance Street on Street Street. Others find elegant ends, such as Links HallWhich stopped her operations this summer after nearly four decades as a small pilot performance center. DNCEWORKS Chicago, a long time incubator who wrote a book on the performance of professional artists early, plans to exchange sunset at the end of the year, with the retirement of the founding coach Julie Nakagawa. Recently, generations of Chicago dancers gathered to celebrate Shirley suppliersFounder of the dance department at Columbia College and its pioneer Series of presentation.
The landscape is mature for something new to enjoy. He will do that, but a quick look at the autumn calendar reveals many confirmed artists and companies that are confirmed, “We haven’t finished yet.”
When the dance audience is sitting for life recently, it happened to me that there is no great way to honor this type of commitment in this ruthless field. Emerging and early artists are observed through 25 to watch the Dance Magazine magazine. I started imagining a list of we Still Watch, like Victoria Gayani, who has now crossed the 20 -year -old brand with Jovri Ballaly and is always performance as it was. Jacqueline Burnett and David Schultz dates back to Hubbard Street to 2009. They are still dancing, now during twins. Mastering a craft-such as Adam Houston for 13 years in Gi-Jigerano Dance Chicago, or Damon Green, is an old warrior for 18 years of rare-takes time and perseverance. We are lucky to get it.
Jovri in the lyric and Harris
A couple of “hazelnut crusher” products precede this fall, including a rare trip across the city to the Harris Theater. The season opens with “Carmen”, the second full -length balloon of Jovri by the late British dance designer Liam Scarlett in several years. If “Carmen” is the same as “Frankstein,” The audience is in treatment. In November, the limited range includes the premiere of the Middle West film for Annabelle Lopez Ochoa Frida Kahlo inspired by “Broken Wings” and a global show from Chanel Dasselva on live music by the main pressure. Both women are a well -known entities in Jovri, after they previously put the original works on the company (Dasilva with “Swing Low” and “color” And Ochoa’s “mammace” and “Plated “).

Robin Menko Williams to leave something behind it
Some familiar faces join Robyn Mineko Williams for her latest project, “To leave you,” Which expands the last curiosity about memory, personal history and residue that we leave behind when we go. It is not a lot of influence, although Williams production over the past few decades has definitely made one. Instead, he is personal, a type of reflections -full memory book, created with his colleague on Hopard Street in Chicago Jessica Tong and Jason Hortin. “To let you” start from Chicago, a weekend festival, dedicated to some pioneering dance artists in Chicago. Hlen Lee manufactures a platform for the masses to work through great feelings in “the curiosity of wellness in the bodies of sadness and joy”, a participatory participation that includes music, dance, dialogue and contemplative walking to the lake. There are several ways to do Chicago Live! , It is made up of two days, multilateral, launched in 2021 along the Navy Pier. One of the strategy is to bring a chair in the garden, choose a stage, and camping in one place throughout the day. Those who look forward to getting their steps in Might Ping Pong between the lake stage, near Polk Bros Park at the sidewalk entry point, and the eastern stage, at the end, in the lake. Along the way, you’ll find a lot of additional entertainment for the festival. This year, to celebrate the fifth anniversary, Chicago Live! Commitment to the house
Ten years after the Pranita Nayar project, which illuminates a set of artistic shapes, and the performance arts teams in South Asia with the founder of the Deep Iega Jeff, for a joint interrogation of memory, cultural identity and belonging. “Homeward” is a shrewd anniversary of the sixtieth anniversary of the Immigration and Nationality Law, a federal law that eliminates discriminatory policies that restrict migration from the eastern hemisphere. It was part of a wave of change resulting from the civil rights movement, as it was eliminating the laws that supported America’s homogeneity-and it is promoted to Nayar and Jeff’s cooperation through cultures.

An old thing, something new from Giordano
For the annual pilgrimage to the suburbs, Brock Clawson raises the 2009 jazz “Give and Take”, and the only chance to see the popular Blackstone vision “Changes in B” once again. The company member, Simon, is distorted his first dance appearance with the main company, where he expanded the quadruple committee that he created for “Giordano on Giordano” last spring to a full work of six dancers.

“R & J” FanFic
The coach of the ballet at Chicago Rumttori and a chief dance designer Wadi Shaf creates a new ballet inspired by secondary characters from “Romeo and Juliet” by Shakespeare. Here, the procedure does not focus on stars fans, but the great lady Capulet and trying with Tybalt, which brings to aristocracy. “The Capculls” is not the first flirting of Saf with Shakespeare, after it previously produced an explanation for the ballet of “MacBeth”. Here, Schaaf goes larger and bolder, with the original Libretto, and the specially made musical result (Matty MatSson) and the projection designs of Pobojewski.

Something of nothing
A group of experienced dance designers chose that the scarcity of acute performance opportunities chose to create one for themselves, as they launched the 3320 dance chain last year as a platform for firm artists working on a smaller scale. For the second series, this series is proud of new works by Joanna Reed/the same planet’s performance project, Michel Cranic/Zeffer Dance, Director of DFBRL8R Joseph Ravins, and is rarely a pre -Jackie Stewart performance (may be famous for presenting 10 years ago, Veerlapati and Kinnari Vora called Ishti Collection.

Hobard Street Dikago, who doubles their last bodies in Rangeier to Hobard Street, “Bob Fossi”, multiplied more than 30 years after Musa Foss, Join Veron, initially on the company. It is part of the Fosese catalog, a great difference from “Sweet GWEN Suite” last season. Other options in the program are not even in the same galaxy, with the repetition of “black milk” by the mourning of Nahirin, the “duo” of the Barton Aswar and “Mint”, Johann Ingar, who completes the evening at the comfortable StepPenwolf theater in the basement. The Spanish band celebrates 50
As a tribute to the company’s technical managers, the Esseble Español is subject to its model artist’s collection instead of celebrating the golden anniversary that was designed exclusively by Libyab and Irma Suarez Ruiz. The program aims to show the breadth and depth of its artistic shape-with pieces that stretch on classic, folkloric, contemporary, and flamko styles-half a century of production, which led them to praise here and abroad. The signing work of both women, such as Komaiko’s 1993 “Boleo” and Ruiz’s “Pascul Oculta”, is a more contemporary classic created in 2019, and was assigned to music known by Escala. Among the deepest discounts “Zapateado”, which is a largely exciting dance, is the Kabella dance of Verrekros, which was first offered in 1976, and “Entre DOS Almas”, which is a 1998 duet in Alexias style, its performance and the performance of Ruiz and the CEO of the company, Jorge Perez in the company since 1985.
