
Jillian Shriner, wife of Weezer guitarist Scott Shriner, has filed for divorce.
The filing comes less than a year after she was arrested on charges of attempted murder, after an exchange of gunfire with police.
According to the documents he obtained TMZGillian cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
Jillian, who has been married to Scott for 20 years, is seeking joint custody of her two sons, aged 17 and 13.
She made headlines in April when she was arrested on attempted murder charges after an altercation with police.
During the incident, Los Angeles Police Department officers witnessed Jillian at a “nearby residence armed with a handgun.”
“The officers ordered (Jillian) to drop the gun several times. But she refused. (Jillian) then pointed the gun at the officers, and an officer-involved shooting occurred,” a statement at the time said.
USA Today reported in September that a judge ruled that “Jillian will undergo a two-year mental health diversion program,” her attorney shared with the outlet.
One month before Jillian’s arrest, she shared on Instagram that she was recovering from cancer treatment.
“Yes, I have a little bit of the C word,” she posted. “I know a lot of us do.”
Scott Shriner spoke about the arrest of his estranged wife, Jillian Shriner, after the incident, saying: TMZ That the couple was going through a “difficult time.”
