“We just want something here.”

The word “Bloom” usually returns to the mind of the circulating fields of colored flowers – not a toxic substance that poses risks to wildlife and human health.

Unfortunately, this is the case in Florida, where environmental advocates invite the governor of the state, Ron Desantis, to declare a state of emergency such as “Red Islands” threatening tourist beaches and coastal areas, I mentioned the guardian.

What is happening?

There is a large patch of red islands – another term for algae that naturally occurs in the Karenia Brevis algae and its reddish medicine – in the southwestern waters of Florida. The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Committee (FWC) reported that dead fish washed on several beaches along the Gulf coast, and two dead dolphins were found abroad. The nearby provinces also put health consultations for humans, according to the Guardian newspaper.

Why do poisonous algae treat important?

Red islands can irritate the skin and damage the respiratory system in both humans and animals. Experts have linked the storms, which have become more common in recent years, to the high temperatures of the ocean and pollution. The Guardian explained that these conditions are exacerbated, and will follow more tide.

“It should be a response to emergency management like the hurricane,” Eric Milbandt, director of the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation, told Outlet. “By the time it affects society, there are millions of dollars in the economy and tourism [at risk]”

What is done about the deterioration of the red tidal?

FWC referred to its partnership with marine scientists and the Florida Ministry of Environmental Protection to alleviate the effect of the red tide, for the entire guardian. Other measures include taking more frequent and detailed samples, as well as an educational video series.

The Disantis Governor has agreed to finance research and technologies that help to combat the tidal, but the concerns are still.
