Victoria Beckham has shared how she manages to stay calm during “extreme situations”, admitting she learned it through being a mother of four.
The fashion designer, 51, recently gave fans a sneak peek into her career and personal life through her eponymous docuseries on Netflix earlier this month.
For context, the three-part series follows the former Spice Girl in the lead-up to their show at Paris Fashion Week in September 2024, the biggest event they’ve ever organised.
Now, David Beckham’s beloved wife has opened up about how she manages to remain outwardly calm in stressful situations.
Speaking with Krista Smith on Skip Intro, Victoria explained that she has learned to “internalize” her feelings, so as not to affect those around her, but admitted that “there’s a lot going on inside.”
She said:
“I think I’ve always been a pretty disciplined person. You know, that’s just who I am. That’s how I live my life. But I do, I cope well with those stressful situations.”
“And this is the way I choose to lead my team. I have to internalize these things, because if not, it will have a domino effect, and that is unproductive.
‘And I surround myself with great people. We will work together very closely and very well. I am aware of that. It’s one of my leadership skills, if you will.
‘I’m the glass half full. I am very positive. I believe in positive energy. But there’s a lot going on inside.
Victoria also admitted that motherhood has taught her discipline, and admitted that she is a bit of a control freak.
She said: Well, listen, let’s be honest, I have four kids too. Well, I think as a mother you learn that, you know? ‘
The truth is, I’m a control freak. Well, I’d say I went into the documentary process a control freak, and I came out the other end a control freak, because I didn’t have that control.
Her comments come amid reports of an ongoing rift between her and David’s eldest son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30, with the family said to have not spoken for months.
Besides Brooklyn, Victoria is also a mother to Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14.
