Unless you’ve been hiding your head in full sand at the beachfront, you’ve heard about the second edition of the “No to Kings” protests taking place across the country on Saturday, October 18, 2025. While this may have been the main event of the day for some, it was not for a large group along a very private beach in California – Camp Pendleton – where US Marines gathered to celebrate their 250th birthday with Vice President J.D. standing by. Vance is on their side.
The title of the program for the anniversary of the branch’s founding in 1775 is “Navy 250: From Sea to Shore.”
Also there, instead of hanging out with baby boomer losers at protest events, was my Townhall.com colleague, Kurt Schlichter (even though he’s retired from the military):
Let the losers go to their humble “No Kings” gathering, those boomer masturbation fests. I’m going out to cover the cum @JDVance and @PeteHegseth At Camp Pendleton for a live fire exercise @townhallcom.

On Inauguration Day last January, as RedState previously wrote, Vance received an honor that no other vice president of the United States can receive — the nation’s first Marine to hold that position.

Earlier Saturday morning, California Gov. Gavin Newsom tried to stick his nose where it shouldn’t regarding activities at Camp Pendleton, my colleague Jim Thompson wrote.

Before the Vice President took the stage, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth spoke to the Marines, praising the Commander-in-Chief and his second-in-command:

“We have an opportunity to see our Commander-in-Chief fighting for all of you every day. I know because I see it,” Hegseth said. “President Trump appreciates your dedication, your valor, and your perseverance. The sacrifices you make, and the sacrifices all of your families make.”
“We know that no Marine serves alone. They serve alongside family,” he continued. “Another person who understands that is Vice President Vance, who is right there alongside President Trump. He himself made the same kind of sacrifices that I did.”
He added: “After high school, your Vice President enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in Iraq. Your Vice President knows and shares the dedication of this force, and he always represents you in Washington.” “I am honored to watch Vice President Vance – day in and day out – live the Marine Corps values, speak up, tell the truth, and be courageous…it’s an incredible thing to watch!”
VP Vance was welcomed as he took the stage with a rousing dose of the traditional Navy “Oorah!”

Vance sent a personal message from President Trump that he was proud of them, loved them, and would make sure that even though Schumer was shut down, they would get paid “just like [they] He deserves.”

After glancing at the crowd, he gave a quick look at the DEI plaguing the US military during the Biden administration:

VP Vance recounted his memories of the day he entered the recruiting office and exerted the same dedication to the nation as the men and women who gathered on the sunny shores of the Golden State at Camp Pendleton:

He concluded in almost the same way he began—with pride at being among his fellow Marines:

Editor’s Note: Schumer’s shutdown is here. Instead of putting the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats imposed a government shutdown of health care for illegal immigrants. They own this.
