los angeles — LOS ANGELES — A University of Southern California graduate student who police say is a serial sexual predator has been accused of drugging and raping several women as investigators search for additional victims, Los Angeles authorities said.
Sizi Weng, a 30-year-old Chinese national also known as Stephen Wong, was arrested on August 28, although the public prosecutor and police had only just released statements about the case on Wednesday.
Wong has pleaded not guilty to eight felony charges, including forcible rape and sodomy using a controlled substance or drugging, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Wong was held without bail and could not be reached for comment. An attorney could not be found for him, and the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office did not respond to an email asking whether one of its attorneys was representing Wong.
USC said in a statement on Wednesday that it is fully cooperating with police and has taken steps to prevent Wing from entering campus.
“Providing a safe environment for learning, teaching and research is our top priority,” the statement said.
Detectives began investigating in January after receiving information from authorities about a possible suspect who supplied the women with drugs before raping them in Los Angeles, police said in a statement.
“Evidence was found at Wong’s home confirming his involvement in drug-facilitated sexual assaults on multiple victims dating back to 2021 and continuing until 2025,” the police statement said. Investigators said Wong put unspecified incapacitating medications into his victims’ food or drinks.
Wong first enrolled as a doctoral student at USC in 2021, prosecutors said.
District Attorney Nathan Hochman urged any other potential victims to contact the police department’s Robbery-Homicide Section.
“We want every victim to know that their voices matter and we will fight to ensure yours is heard,” Hochman said in a statement.
If convicted as charged, Wing faces 25 years in prison plus 56 years in state prison, the district attorney’s office said.
