Uber and one of the many Robotaxi partners, MOMENTA, will fully driver car in Germany next year. The news comes as Europe continues to defend the United States and China in the number of Robotaxi operating services commercially.
Companies say they will test independent 4 -level vehicles in Munich starting in 2026. (The 4 -driver describes the level without driver, without safety drivers, which can work anywhere within a specific geographical area). If things go on the plan in Munich, Uber says Movea can come to additional European cities in the coming years.
Momenta is located in Shanghai, where it currently runs its Robotaxi service. Earlier this year, Uber said it would allow the company to add its robotics to its riding platform, although it will be cities outside the United States and China. Uber also said that the robota in Momenta will contain safety screens behind the steering wheel at the end, before moving at the end to the entire driver without vehicles.
Momenta, which has received funding from Saic Motor, GM, Toyota, Mercedes-Benz and Bosch in China, currently provides a driver assistance program for a number of car manufacturers, Including Mercedes And BMW.
Although it is currently behind the United States and China, Europe has started to see more Robotaxi measures that indicate that flood gates may be open soon. In addition to Uber and Momenta, China Bido and Live Plan to bring driver taxis without the UK and Germany in 2026. Volkswagen is also tested by self -government cars in Germany for several years, and she recently said that it will launch their robotics service – I guessed that – Uber in Los Angeles in 2026.
