US President Donald Trump said he will finalize a peace agreement to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky prepares to unveil a new peace plan when they meet on Sunday.

“He doesn’t have anything for me to agree to,” Trump told Politico on Friday. “So we’ll see what he’s got.”

Zelensky told reporters on Friday that he would meet with Trump on Sunday in Florida and present a 20-point peace proposal for the president to review. In addition, Zelensky said the meeting would likely focus on security guarantees for Ukraine, but said it was unclear whether “regional issues would be discussed.”

“The 20-point plan we worked on is 90% ready,” Zelensky told reporters on Friday. “Our task is to make sure that everything is 100% ready. It is not easy and no one says it will be 100% right away, but nevertheless we must bring the desired result closer with every meeting like this, and every conversation like this.”

Trump said in November that he would not meet with Zelensky again — or Putin — unless an agreement to end the war was in its final stages.

Meanwhile, Zelensky indicated that progress had been made, noting that he had a “very good conversation” with Jared Kushner and US special envoy Steve Witkoff on Thursday. Specifically, Zelensky said the talks focused on ending the war and efforts to ensure lasting peace in the region.
