President Trump did not rule out a third term for his post on Sunday, and he told NBC News that he was “not joking” about this possibility, and suggested that there are “methods” to circumvent the period in the constitution.
Mr. Trump told host, host Christine Wilker, that “many people” wanted him to spend a third term, according to a copy of the interview presented by NBC News.
He said: “Many people want me to do that.” “But we have – my thinking is, we have a long way to cut it. I focus on the current.”
Any attempt to search for a third state will contradict Edit 22And that begins, “no one will be elected to the president’s office twice.”
On Sunday, after issuing the interview, the White House repeated Mr. Trump’s point that he was focusing on his current mandate, adding that “it is too early to think about the idea.”
“The Americans agree and support President Trump and his first policies in America,” Stephen Cheung, the White House, said in a statement. He added that Mr. Trump was focusing on “retreating from all harm” conducted by the Biden administration and “making America great again.”
Mr. Trump often thinks about the idea of a third term, especially in the gatherings and speeches that made his supporters happy, although he often treats her more than a sense of humor. The interview was the first time that Mr. Trump – who likened himself to a king and showed a rapprochement of the authoritarian leaders who were compared to experts and constitutional historians to authoritarianism – that he was seriously considering the idea, and whose allies continued to exaggerate.
Three days after Mr. Trump entered the oath for the second time, actor Andy Ouglis suggested to Tennessee as an amendment to the constitution that makes Mr. Trump eligible for a third term. Such action will be very difficult: constitutional amendments require the approval of two -thirds of the Congress voting and then ratification of three quarters of the states.
In the interview, Mrs. Wilker noticed that she had heard a joke for him to spend a third term several times. Mr. Trump explained that he considered it a real possibility.
“No, no, I am not joking,” he said. “I am not joking.”
Mrs. Wilker asked Mr. Trump if he had been submitted to plans, and said he did not do that – but he added that there are “ways you can do.”
Mrs. Wilker suggested one of the possibilities: The presence of Vice President JD Vance at the top of the ticket in 2028, only to pass the office to Mr. Trump after the victory. Mr. Trump admitted “This is one way” that can happen.
“But there are others too,” he said. “There are others.”
Mr. Trump refused to say what could be.
