Tom Ellis is about to become part of the Marvel universe, he’s opened up.
the devil The actor said he once auditioned for the role of Reed Richards, known as Mister Fantastic, in The Fantastic Four: The First Steps.
In chat with square milesEllis shared that he was one of the few actors asked to audition before Pedro Pascal got the role, “There was a select group of people who were asked to sign up for Reed Richards.”
“I was waiting for the right thing to come along. I remember looking at a picture of Richards in the comics and thinking: ‘This might be the thing.’ We look exactly alike.”
He didn’t get the role but it was well received, joking, “I mean, to be fair, he wasn’t involved much,” before praising Pascal’s acting.
“It’s great. I’m looking forward to seeing it. The trailer looks a lot of fun.”
Ellis admitted that it is such close connections that make him passionate about his work, saying: “We live for the ‘what ifs.’ We are all dreamers in this industry, and that is what drives us.”
Pedro Pascal’s version of Reed Richards was widely praised by fans and critics.
However, the movie The Fantastic Four: The First Steps Already available on DVD and Blu-ray, a Disney+ version is coming soon.
