Kubuntu Focus, the company that sells computers specifically designed for Linux desktop, has just released a NX Gen 3 computer. It is a small computer on the desktop supported by the latest Ultra 7 and Kubuntu Linux.
This computer is an updated version of Company Focus NX Computer, which is somewhat similar to Apple Mac Mini or ASUS NUC PC. It is a built -in desktop of 4.6 x 4.4 x 15 inches (117 x 112 x 37 mm), with a metal body, plastic top, and the same heat designs such as Canyon NUC computers from Intel.
The main promotion here is the processor, which is now available in two options: Intel Core Ultra 7 255H or Intel Core Ultra 5 225H. Both central processing units are models of the fifteent generation with TDP 40W, but Ultra 7 contains more core/topics, better integrated graphics, and around the clock slightly faster. Kubuntu Focus also uses dual -channel RAM for the best possible performance.
The rest of the devices are impressive, too. You can get two Thunderbolt 4 ports, many USB Type-A and USB Type-C, HDMI, Wi-Fi 7, 2.5G ethernet lan, Bluetooth 5.4, and two M.2 drive. You can open a standard Phillips PC to replace or upgrade ingredients-far from Apple’s undisciplined Mac Mini. You can connect up to four 4K screens at one time, using Displayport 2.1 outputs on the USB-C port and two HDMI 2.1 port at once.
As with all the company’s computers, these ships with Kubuntu 24.04 LTS are outside the box, associated with some facilities to control the system and learn how to use Linux for the desktop. Any modern Linux distribution should also work. Windows is not officially supported, but it should work after searching for any missing drivers. If you sometimes need double windows, it may be good to use one of the M.2 holes only for Windows SSD, and keep the regular Linux installation on the basic drive.
