Timothy Busfield faces an arrest warrant in New Mexico for allegations of sexual assault of minors.
The alleged victims are 11-year-old twin boys, whose identities have not been revealed.
One of the children reportedly told authorities that the alleged behavior began when he was seven years old.
An arrest warrant issued by the Albuquerque Police Department on Friday states that Busfield is charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor and one count of child abuse. the people I mentioned recently.
The investigation began on November 1, 2024, after a doctor at the University of New Mexico Hospital contacted police about a possible sexual assault.
The children’s parents told investigators that their sons were child actors who met Busfield while working on the FOX series Cleaning ladywhere West wing Actor, 68, worked as director.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Warner Bros. Television told the press that the company takes allegations involving minors seriously and has systems in place to investigate misconduct.
According to the memo, the parents said Busfield became increasingly close to the boys during production and encouraged them to call him “Uncle Tim.” After hearing rumors that Busfield had previously behaved inappropriately with women, the children’s mother asked her sons if anyone had ever touched them in a way that made them uncomfortable. The boys allegedly replied: “You mean like Uncle Tim?”
The children were later assessed at the UN mission in Hamburg, where specialists suggested they may have been groomed. At the time, the warrant said, the boys did not disclose any explicit sexual contact, but did describe tickling their bellies and legs. Authorities initially decided that the case did not meet the criteria for admission.
In subsequent months, the mother filed additional reports with police and Child Protective Services, alleging that her sons disclosed sexual assaults that occurred between November 2022 and spring 2024. One of the children later told a counselor that Busfield touched him inappropriately.
An internal Warner Bros. investigation reportedly documented Busfield allegedly kissed a minor on the face in a hair and makeup trailer in December 2024.
Busfield denied any wrongdoing in his statements in the memo, saying any physical interaction would have been playful and public. He also noted that parents were upset by the casting changes.
The memo also notes that Busfield faced previous allegations of sexual assault dating back to 1994.
