Rachel Carpani, famous for Home and Away, has died unexpectedly at the age of 45.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, December 15, the late Australian actress’ sister Georgia issued a statement to make the announcement on behalf of her parents.
It is worth noting that the bereaved family informed Rachel’s fans about her battle with some chronic diseases, but refrained from revealing the exact disease to which she succumbed.
The statement read: “It is with great sadness that Tony and Gayle Carpani announce that their beautiful daughter, beloved Australian actress Rachel Carpani, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully after a long battle with chronic illness, in the early hours of Sunday, December 7.”
Sharing the funeral date, her family said, “The funeral will be a private event, which will be held on Friday, December 19, with family and close friends.”
The statement concluded with a sincere request: “The family requests privacy at this extremely difficult time and will not be making any further statements.”
On the professional front, Rachel has worked in several successful shows and starred as Judy Fountain in the Australian soap opera MacLeod’s Daughters From 2001 to 2009 she achieved international fame.
