Although it has been years since Meghan Markle left the UK and stopped being a full-time royal, there seems to be no change in King Charles’ feelings towards her.
Although she has spoken out, on multiple occasions, against the company’s lack of accommodations or assistance during her suicidal bout while pregnant with Archie, as well as her interviews with Oprah and even Harry and Meghan Docuseries, King Charles’ “soft spot” is said to be ongoing.
Over time, it has also become softer, a source revealed to National Examiner. Furthermore, “despite everything that has happened, Charles has not turned his back on Meghan.” Conversely, “the more time passes, the more sympathy he feels for her.”
The same source also referred to his old nickname for the Duchess of Sussex, “Tungsten,” and added that he “still thinks she has a good heart.”
He is also said to have become somewhat emotional when he learned that her father, Thomas Markle, had suffered a medical emergency, and according to one source “wants peace, not just with Harry but also with Meghan, and he is quietly applying pressure from the top to make that happen.”
But his wife and son are not on board because they are “surprised and say he is so naive” and “feel strongly that it takes trouble to open the door for her.”
