Klyuchevskoy volcano on the Russian Kamchatka Peninsula began violation on Wednesday morning after a strong earthquake off the Russian eastern coast.

The lava began to flow from the largest active volcano in the northern hemisphere.

Klyuchevskoy is located in the Kamchatka area, 4,750 meters (15,584 feet) and the last time erupted in 2023.

According to the Kamchatka branch in the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences, observers have reported the visible explosions and currents of lava on the western slopes of the volcano.

The scientists used to explode for weeks, noting that the volcano’s hole was gradually filled with volcanic lava and that the mountain was emitting from the pillars of the ash.

Kamchatka, which is often referred to as “Land of Fire and ice”, is one of the most active volcanic areas in the world, with about 300 volcanoes, 29 of which are active, according to the Earth Observatory in NASA.
