The possibility of disrupting a new SSI (Social Security) payments

I want to make sure here. But this seems dangerous. I am in contact with two families. Parents have an adult child with severe disabilities receiving SSI payments to support them. In each case, at one time, the social security portal has turned to show that an adult child “does not receive benefits.” The full language is “this beneficiary does not receive payments currently” under “benefits and payments.” In one case, the recipient’s payment is late, but it may still come tomorrow. In the other case, the recipient lives in a facility that receives payments directly. So that the family is not known yet if there is disruption in payments.

Each family contacted me independently and each of them from a different part of the country – one in the Middle West, and the other in the northeast. Each family is part of a loose local network of families or a group of support for families with disabled adult children. In every case, many families in every support network began to see the same thing today. In other words, this does not seem to be an isolated problem or a defect associated with one family account or even a local problem related to one urban area or a single care facility.

When it comes to the largest number of families who saw the “lack of advantages” language, some seem to have obtained payments on time and others did not. There is no clear pattern. This also seems to affect SSI, not SSDI, although many adult children receive both. Of course, we deal with small sizes. So SSDI can also be affected.

In the case of both families who are in direct contact with the parents, they themselves benefiting from retirement in social security. Their accounts are not affected.

What I can say is that the payments could still reach the late side but not very late, at least in some cases. Perhaps the issue is that many people’s accounts, starting today, include the language that the payments have been cut, even though the payments or will continue to do. As much as I can tell some families in these extended networks, they received their monthly payments despite the presence of this language in their gates.

Currently, I am trying to find out if there are other families in similar situations (parents of adult children with severe disabilities who are on SSI and/or SSDI) and see the same. If you see something similar, please contact me at Talk AT Talkpointsmemo Dot Com with the “Social Security” topic line. If you prefer more safety, you can access me in a reference to JosHTPM.99 or via Email Email at Joshtpm in ProtonMail Dot Com.

I will keep any personal information that you share with confidence. But there is no really need to share any personal information. You do not need to know the names or any other details about your family’s status. I just try to find out if there are others who see the same as I described above.
