The authorities say that a 71 -year -old man was arrested shortly after the assassination of Charlie Kerk and then released, trying to help the suspect’s suspect by enhancing recognition.

Sherif said in a statement that Mr. Zain “shouted from deliberately he was the shooter, and thus, obstructing law enforcement from focusing on the actual shooter.”
The documents of the court submitted by the campus police claim that Mr. Zain started screaming: “He shot him – now he shot me.”
When one of the officers was asked about the whereabouts of the weapon used to shoot, he claimed that he replied, “I will not tell you,” according to the documents.
Sharif said that there was currently no evidence of Mr. Zain with the gunman.
Sherif Smith added that Mr. Zain is also held for sexual exploitation of the minor, and that the agents found more than 20 pictures of children “at different stages of dressing and sexual wandering.”
On Monday, the judge ordered that Mr. Zain kept without a guarantee, describing him as a “great danger” for society.
It is not clear from the court’s records if he had a lawyer.
The New York Times reported that Mr. Zain is known among the general events organizers in the Solt Lake City, the New York Times reported. “It has appeared repeatedly for public forums with the intention of disrupting the event or asking about a high -ranking speaker,” he said.

Charlie Kerk was one of the highest conservative activists and media figures in the United States.

He was shot while hosting an event at the University of Utah Valley, while the authorities described it as a targeted attack. President Trump described Mr. Kirk as “my homeland” and said that his killing was “a dark moment for America.”
