The first flight of ISAR Aerospace continued

“The possibility of access to the non -Europe space is very important strategic,” said Robert Habik, deputy advisor to Germany and Minister of Economy.

“With the first launch of the Isar Aerospace Spectrum missile, Germany has proven impressive as an important site for developing innovative space technologies,” Habeck Books on LinkedIn. “The first trip provided important data and experience for the next missile trip … ISAR Aerospace can make a decisive contribution to securing the arrival of independent Europe into space!”

The Spectrum Rocket is the largest launch vehicle that was mainly built in Germany, replacing the V-2 missile of World War II.

In the past few months, European government officials have affirmed their desire to be free to rely on other countries of defense and space technology. Europe was a long -time agent in the Russian Soyuz missile, but the partnership ended in 2022 with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The delays in the appearance of the ARIANE 6 missile and the failure of the smaller Vega missile forced European governments to sign contracts with SpaceX to launch many scientific and security satellites.

Daniel Mitzer, co -founder and CEO of Isar Aerospace, speaks at an event in Munich on January 12, 2024.

Mitzer, CEO of ISAR, was asked last year about what he would consider a successful opening journey.

And he said in Handelsblatt Innovation Conference. “This is likely to be the thing that will bring us back in terms of technology and time.”

This calm of expectations looks significantly similar to the data made by Elon Musk about the first Spacex flight in the Starship missile in 2023.

With this procedure, ISAR officials may be satisfied with the outcome of Sunday. The company is mixing its test strategy on the repetitive development course for Spacex, where the engineers are tested early, they make repairs, and fly again. This is in a blatant contradiction with the way Europe developed the missiles traditionally. Mitzer said that the alternative to the ISAR approach is “spending 15 years in research, simulating, and then obtaining it properly the first time.”

With the first launch of the Spectrum, ISAR tested the missile. Now, it’s time to make repairs and fly again. ISAR leaders argue that it will be the true measure of success.

“We are very happy,” Mitzler said in a press call after a Sunday trip. “It is time for people to be proud, and for Europe, frankly, to be proud of them.”
