The family is still seeking justice for the man who was shot and killed in the city’s Logan section

It’s been more than two years since a man was shot and killed in the city’s Logan section. Now, his family is still looking to bring his killer to justice.

“I’m in pain every day, I’m in pain every day,” Judith Wilson says. “It’s been two years, two years, two years, and I’m still on day one.”

Wilson is still struggling to come to terms with the murder of her first son, 32-year-old Lejeune Alexander.

“This person, he took not only my son, he took a brother, an uncle and a friend,” Wilson says.

It was Thursday, October 12, 2023 at approximately 9 a.m. when gunfire erupted in the 200 block of West Ashdale Street in Logan.

Police officers happened to be two blocks away serving a search warrant on an unrelated home invasion when they heard the gunfire.

Upon arrival, they found Alexander suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

“This is my son, and it could be any one of our kids,” Wilson says.

Flying bullets also hit a metro bus carrying members of the elderly community at the time, shattering the driver’s side window.

The driver was injured in the upper part of his body, but survived his injuries.

Those on board the bus were shaken, but were not injured.

More than two years later, there is no suspect in custody.

Wilson has a message for her son’s killer

“Just do the right thing, give yourself up, and at least let the end go.”

The Citizens Crime Commission is offering a $20,000 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the defendant in this case.
