The Cure guitarist Perry Bamonte has died at the age of 65

Perry Bamonte, guitarist for the rock band The Cure, has died at the age of 65.

According to the statement published by the band’s official website, Perry died after a short struggle with illness.

The statement read: “It is with great sadness that we confirm the death of our great friend and colleague Perry Bamonte, who passed away after a short illness at home over Christmas.”

He also revealed that Teddy was calm, intense, intuitive, consistent and extremely creative, and was a vital and vital part of the therapy story. “Taking care of the band” from 1984 until 1989, he became a full-time member of The Cure in 1990, playing guitar, six-string bass and keyboard on the albums “Wish,” “Wild Mood Swings,” “Bloodflowers,” “Acoustic Hits” and “The Cure,” as well as performing over 400 shows over the course of 14 years.”

“He returned to The Cure in 2022, playing another 90 shows, some of the best in the band’s history, culminating with a Lost World concert show in London on November 1, 2024. Our thoughts and condolences are with all his family. He will be greatly missed,” the statement concluded.

Following the death of Perry Bamonte, the current lineup of The Cure, formed in 1978, includes Robert Smith, 66, Simon Gallup, 65, Roger O’Donnell, 70, Jason Cooper, 58, and Reeves Gabriels, 69.
