Taylor Swift is finally addressing her split from Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy.
Swift’s six-year relationship with actor Joe ended when she began her tour in 2023. She also had a brief romance with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy in the summer of that year before moving on to her current fiancé, NFL wide receiver Travis Kelce.
In the fourth episode of the Eras: The End of an Era tour, released on December 19, the August hitmaker lifted the veil of the breakup that she had to go through in the middle of the tour.
“There were points on this tour where touring was the only thing that kept me going in my life,” Taylor shared. “But there weren’t any points in the Tour where I thought, ‘Oh, I want to finish the Tour because the Tour is tough.’ No, my personal life was difficult.”
“I went through two breakups in the first half of this tour,” she said. “Actually, there are a lot of breakups. This show is what gave me purpose and what I could use to get me out of bed. Touring wasn’t the hard thing in my life. Touring was the thing that allowed me to find purpose outside of what was going on in my life.”
“Men will let you down, the Eras Tour never will,” she said.
Taylor penned her 2024 album Tortured Poets Oath during that period and is widely believed to be about two relationships and breakups.
The Grammy winner corroborated this report, saying: “The Tortured Poets album is like this catharsis… just, like, everything, every bad thing I felt for two years. It was a really hard time in my life, so the songs reflect that.”
She added: “I feel like I’m not a person, I’m just a big conglomerate that no one considers me a real human being especially the guys I date. And in the whole process I’m like… nothing, nothing is working. There’s no one for me in the world.”
Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy have both stayed quiet about their relationship with Taylor Swift.
Meanwhile, the singer appears to be living out her happy ending when it comes to romance, as she recently got engaged to Super Bowl-winning athlete Travis Kelce. The couple is expected to tie the knot in June 2026.
