Sylvester Stallone recently shared what he felt while making his way in the industry.

During his conversation with CBS Morningthe actor discussed the time he poured himself into Rocky as a rookie.

Stallone confirmed that the studios were interested in the story, but not in him as the hero.

When the show’s host, Gayle King, noted how much he needed money at the time, he recalled the studio’s offerings, “I started at 20, then I went to 80, then I went to 160, then I went to 360. . . .”

That may not seem like a lot among today’s blockbusters, but it was the equivalent of a $2.5 million showing today. However, “I couldn’t do it,” he recalls.

The actor won three Oscars For the film under discussion, he shared that this feat came with complex emotions.

“It was a volcanic moment,” he admitted, “and then it was very sad.”

“You want the people you love who denied you, and now you’re here, and you’re at the Oscars, and they don’t want to go… You realize, in that moment, that you’ll never come to terms with this…” he concluded.
