Switch from Windows 10 to Windows 11 – Main Differences

Windows 10 bells are ringing, and many users who have been waiting now to update to Windows 11 choose. If you are one of them, congratulations on continuous safety updates and new features, but also on the operating system that has received a lot of criticism since its launch in 2021 – but often exaggerated.

Because when you look beyond the glass surface with its round corners and the starting list in its strict position, the differences are not actually large. It is not similar to the switch to Mac or Linux, and not by a long snapshot.

In many cases, these somewhat small changes you can get used to quickly. In many cases, the old behavior can be stopped or hidden, and new add -ons you do not need to be turned off.

Microsoft has become more similar to Apple in one area in recent years. Where the company used to make an effort to move aside and allow users to choose how they wanted to use their computers, it now prefers to do certain things in a certain way.

The most obvious example is that you are almost forced to log in with a Microsoft account instead of a traditional local account. For example, a local account can usually be chosen when installing the system. This can be circumvented easily, but Microsoft continues to overcome all the benefits of its account.

Somehow, the company is right. Using a Microsoft account, for example, do not worry about Windows registration because the license key is linked to the calculation and is easy to react of if you make changes on the devices. I find this very useful because sometimes I install my Windows installed directly and sometimes in a virtual device – although the device is completely different, the system has no problem with activation.

Windows 11 Home can codify local storage using the device’s encryption, but it requires a Microsoft account to store a copy of the recovery key – so if you want to use a local account, you will need a Pro license to encrypt the disc.

Other features include synchronization of settings and installed applications from the Microsoft store between computers and automatic authentication of all Microsoft services and other applications. If you have a Microsoft 365 subscription for the office, it will be much easier if log in to Windows with the same Microsoft account.

But if you don’t subscribe to Microsoft 365, do not use OneDRive, you will not need to encrypt the disk, rarely do not change devices or there is no practical gain from the Microsoft account. If you prefer it, you can then choose a local account anyway, even with Windows 11 Home.
