
Strange things Creator Matt Duffer recently spoke about Finn Wolfhard’s popularity among the newest additions to the show’s cast.
During a group chat at a recent event, Dover, 41, talked about what he loved most about filming the fifth season of the series. Netflix hit, according to People magazine.
“I loved bringing in the young people,” he said, referring to the new generation of child actors who appeared this season.
“These kids were…especially [this one boy] —He was following Finn around like a little dog. “He thought Finn was the coolest.”
Dover, who created the series alongside his twin brother Ross Dover, described the moment as particularly meaningful, calling it a “full circle” experience.
“That’s exactly what Finn was with Joe [Keery] He continued: “On that day.”
“I mean Finn was following Joe around like a little dog. He was so cute.”
Wolfhard, now 22, chimed in during the conversation and jokingly added: “And then Joe will follow me everywhere.”
The actor went on to reflect on how the dynamic has shifted over the years, revealing that stepping into a mentor-like role was a surprisingly emotional feeling.
“I kind of weirdly did what these guys did in Season 1, which is kind of protective. It felt like I was protecting a younger version of myself or we were, this season, protecting younger versions of ourselves,” Wolfhard explained.
“And that was really fun,” he concluded by praising the new cast members for their sense of humor, noting, “And it was also fun because these kids are so funny. They’re all Generation Alpha, and I don’t know any of them…”
