The summons started after customers complained of “wood -like materials” in frozen meals.
Foreign materials are often entered into foods at some point in the production process and can pose safety risks if consumed. So far, there has been a single incident that was reported to Nestle regarding the frozen meals that were called.
The company said they are investigating the source of firewood -like materials and are confident that this is an isolated problem.
The Food and Drug Administration urges consumers not to prepare or consume frozen meals that have been called. Customers can return the affected products to the store where they are purchased for replacement or recovery.
You can also call Nestlé for additional support on (800) 681-1676, from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm EST.
