
andOr those of us in the northern hemisphere, September is an excellent time to search for a faint constellation of Capricorn, and sea goats, one of the oldest recognized constellations. It appears in the Ptolemy list in the second century consisting of 48, and even before that on the papal clay tablets dating back to a few thousand years BC.
Capricornus appears to be an illusion, a legendary creature that contains the body, a goat head and a fish tail. In Greek myths, it is often associated with a wet, who hidden the young Zeus from his father who saves his child, or chrons, or the shepherd.
The constellation extends to the annual path of the sun through the sky, which means that it is one of the 12 constellation.
The chart shows the scene looking south of London in the middle of the night, where it becomes September 1, September 2. The brightest star in the constellation is Deneb Algedi. Select this and then work on your way around the constellation. Stop temporarily when you get to the star Al againstedi and know if you can make his comfortable companion, who is in a close presence.
