President Trump’s decision today to manufacture the capital police and the deployment of the National Guard forces in the city is a good reminder of the importance of what we discussed on Friday: the need for the political opposition to narrate Trump’s violations of the authority and the contents of the United States’ constitution, and a disturbance of the laws that the laws will reflect. It makes it more important to review and remember the decisive importance of the consent of the convicts.
It is part of the American Civil Culture of the Magician in the process of peaceful transfer of power. We hold elections under a specific set of rules. The winners in these elections inherit a wide range of powers. The president controls the vast federal army and bureaucracy. The president has a large group of valleys. What he or she says, in specific worlds. Legislators prepare new laws. Judges issue sentences on prison, give the damage that people suffer, etc., etc. The marvel is that the full population of the age of 340 million are freely spread in this power. We have an ordinary criminal behavior that suffers from and punished. But focus on the reality of this free compliance. The vast majority of us do not communicate with the forced power of the state. However, almost everyone, even the most severe opponents of this administration, realize that this president has a full set of legitimate forces and we will represent them.
