Often the launch of the new phone comes with some of the early problems attached – such as RAM on iPhone 16 – and we see reports on some Google Pixel 10 owners with wireless charging problems on their devices.
Several complaints were collected by the team in 9to5googleIt includes problems such as slow charging, and the charging that begins, then it stops after a few minutes or a few seconds has passed.
You can read some reports yourself This topic RedditIt focuses specifically on the Pixel Stand 2 which was launched next to Pixel 6. It is difficult to determine the spread of these problems, but there are a lot of frustrated users.
The team in 9to5google managed to repeat some problems but not all the problems reported online, and we have not seen any wireless charging problems during the test that we conducted to review Google Pixel 10.
New standards, new problems
These errors seem to affect all the different pixels 10, including Google Pixel 10 Pro and Google Pixel 10 Pro XL. If there is a link between reports, all of which may include older wireless charging devices.
The Pixel 10 series is offered with wireless charging, with support for the Qi2 and the new magnetic power definition (MPP) – which means the Android experience that is slightly similar to Magsafe, with a magnet used to align phones and charging.
It is possible that older shipping devices do not work properly with new standards, which is why users do not see a smooth wireless charging – although this is not something that Google has mentioned.
So far there has been no response from Google to complaints, but we will keep you aware if this happened. Program repair is likely to be able to solve some of these problems with older wireless charging devices.
