Reba McEntire reflects on a whirlwind year alongside fiancé Rex Lane as she prepares to start a new chapter.

Appearance on the red carpet for Sound Season 28 Lives The 70-year-old country icon reflects on how busy 2025 has been so far.

“It’s been a very busy year doing The Voice and Happy’s Place, since June,” McIntyre said.

Despite her busy schedule, the singer said she and Lynne are keen to slow things down once the holiday arrives.

For those not in the know, McIntyre and Lane exchanged rings last year around the same time.

She quipped that as a couple they are “really looking forward to being back in Tennessee, sitting in front of the fire, doing a lot of cooking and catching up with family and friends.”

While McEntire may be a powerhouse performer, balancing roles as an actress, musician, and mentor on the NBC competition series, she admitted that cooking isn’t exactly her forte.

“I’ll let Rex do the cooking. I’ll clean,” she joked with a laugh, revealing that their holiday meals would largely be Lynn’s specialty.

Before concluding her speech, McIntyre spoke about her fiancé’s dedication in the kitchen.

“Oh, he’s great—well, I don’t know about a chef—but he’s the kind of guy who will spend three days preparing a recipe,” she said fondly.
