After the Los Angeles Rams’ 38-37 overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Rams star receiver Pukka Nacua reignited one of the many controversies he sparked this week, posting — and then quickly deleting — criticism of X’s management.
“Can you say I was wrong,” Nakoa wrote. “Appreciate you lines for your contribution. LOL”
On Tuesday, Nakoa Criticize the referees While broadcasting live with popular streamers Adin Ross and N3on.
“The rulers are the worst,” [because] Only some rules aren’t… These guys are lawyers; “They want to be on TV too, bro,” Nakoa said. “Don’t think he’s texting his friends in the group chat like, ‘Yo! You guys just saw me on “Sunday Night Football.” Like “it wasn’t that.” [pass interference] But I called him. These guys are normal human beings too, brother.”
Nacua was likely frustrated by a pair of calls that played a significant role in the outcome. Early in the game, the Rams were called for an ineligible man at the 1-yard line, a call that negated a touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford to Terrance Ferguson. Terry Macaulay, a former referee who now works as a pundit, said on the live broadcast that the decision was incorrect. The Rams settled for a field goal.
In the fourth quarter, the Seahawks scored a touchdown to pull within 30-28. On the two-point conversion attempt, Jared Fiers hit Sam Darnold for what appeared to be an incompletion. After reviewing the officials It was ruled that the pass was reversedBecause Zach Charbonnet caught a live ball in the end zone, it was considered a successful two-point attempt.
“When a back-forward pass is judged incomplete, the replay may be reversed if there is a clear recovery in the direct ongoing action,” McAuley said. Published on X. “The ball is awarded to the recovering team at the recovery site. Let me make this perfectly clear: whether the referee’s whistle is blown or not is completely irrelevant.”
Nacua clearly disagreed with the referee’s decision, both there and elsewhere, and he made his feelings known shortly after the match ended. Rams coach Sean McVay declined to comment on Nacua’s post, saying he had not seen it and did not have enough information.
Nacua produced one of the best receiver stat lines ever on Thursday, catching 12 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns, including a 41-yard score that put the Rams into overtime.
But the Rams’ defense couldn’t hold up. The Seahawks drew within one on a Darnold to Jaxon Smith-Njigba touchdown pass and won on a two-point conversion from Darnold to Eric Saubert.
