On Monday, President Donald Trump joined Kid Rock’s office to sign an executive order aimed at what the White House called “exploitative tickets”.
It calls for the Federal Trade Committee and the Ministry of Justice to “enforce” the current laws accurately, so it does not immediately explain the immediate impact that may have the executive order on the ticket industry.
Trump told the correspondents that his friend Kid Rock told him about “the scalp chick and everything you were reading on this topic … I did not know much about that, but I reviewed it and it is a big problem. I was trying to accomplish it for 20 years or something like that; he said: … I spoke to him over the years on this topic, and he disturbs him … artists come out with a ticket worth $ 100 and sold for $ 2000 per night.”
It seems that it is aimed at taking strict action against robots more than setting boundaries on prices, but Kid Rock said he wanted to see the implementing laws that set a maximum of what sellers can receive.
“In the end, I think this is a great first step,” said Rock Rock. “I would like to love the road if there is some legislation where we can already put a hat to resell the tickets … … I am capitalist and a man to cancel the restrictions, but they tried this in some places in Europe, and it seems that this is the only thing that allows us as artists to obtain tickets in the hands of fans at the prices we set.”
The White House described this executive, which almost does not go to this extent, as a lawsuit “FTC and the Ministry of Justice to enforce strict laws on books, in cooperation with state lawyers who have authority to protect the consumer, and other people who have authority in this matter, so that artists and fans are not subject to these illegal practices.
He supported organizations from the organizations from the living nation to the National Consumer Association.
Live Nation said in a statement: “The subscribers and robots prevent fans from obtaining tickets at the prices put in place, and we thank President Trump for taking them face to face,” Live Nation said in a statement. “We support any significant reselling reforms – including more robotics law, CAPS on re -sale prices, and more.”
Michael Rabino, CEO of Live Nation, issued a separate statement at the X account, putting the Trump brand and Rock. Rabino wrote: “Thank you very much for President Donald Trump for taking tickets face to face that protects American consumers and artists,” Rabino wrote. “Beginners and robots prevent fans from obtaining tickets at the prices determined by artists, which is why we support any meaningful reselling reforms – including more enforcement of the robots law, arrangement of re -sale prices, and more.”
“Your policy does not matter,” said Kid Rock, standing along Trump, one of the most frank conservatives in the world of music, and a long -standing supporter. Thank you, Mr. President, because this has happened at the speed of lightning … Anyone who bought a ticket in the past decade, and perhaps 20 years, regardless of your policy, knows that it is a mystery.
Trump is not the first president to pay attention to ticket issues, as his predecessor Joe Biden was accused of breaking the “scrap fee”. Under the Biden Administration, the Ministry of Justice filed a lawsuit against Ticketmaster and the mother company Live Nation and asked the court to dismantle what was described as a monopoly.
One of the skeptical bloggers in the industry, Bob Levsitz, was immediately weighed in this arrangement, saying it was actually meaningless.
“A lot of confusion about nothing.” Actually, it doesn’t say anything. Other than that the tickets are brushed a lot of money and they must pay taxes on their revenues … … As for the robots law … it was on books for years, but it was ineffective because there were no money/assets delegated to the tickets?
But Kid Rock’s approval of the event was firm as a “step” if not a final destination in changing practices.
The singer said: “I will be the first to say, and I know that the president does not like when I say this, but I went a little at the present time.” “It is ridiculous. I prefer to be a hero of working class and make them able to attend my programs and give them a fair ticket price. I can’t control that now, so we hope this is a step to achieve this.”
