Pokemon Legends: ZA It didn’t come out until a few hours before the tweets started appearing: Shiny Pokemon Don’t despair. You can walk away from the shiny, and it will still be there when you come back.
For illustrious collectors, that is big news. In others Pokemon Games, such as Scarlet and VioletPokemon are eliminated after you move away from them a certain distance or trigger a loading screen. I’ve missed my fair share of shiny Pokemon this way, and my heart sinks when I see them before they’re gone forever.
You can still miss out on the chance to get the Shiny Pokemon toBut we’ll get to that in a moment.
I first discovered the new spawning mechanics myself. I heard the bright sound effect indicating that there was a bright, strange-colored vortex above the surface, and I realized that I had no way to get to that surface without walking very far. Not knowing any better, I thought I was lucky. (Swirlix had a 1 in 4096 chance of being shiny, so I guess I was some luck.)
I actually tried to get up to the roof, but the night was about to change into day – setting off a little scene that I was sure would bring out Swirlix – and I was in a hurry. I tried to take a shortcut through the adjacent battle area. It was full of trainers ready to challenge me as soon as they saw me, and I ended up in a battle right away. I’d never lost one of these battles before, so I tried it, thinking maybe I’d get out of the battle and up the stairs in time to catch a shiny Swirlix… and ended up magically teleporting to a remote Pokémon Center. I figured if changing from night to day wasn’t enough to get rid of Swirlix, this certainly would.
A little later, I was on some rooftops heading towards the target when I heard the bright sound effect again. I realized it was the same Swirlix, the alpha, still there and still shining. I immediately sent a message to my colleague Charles Pulliam Moore, who reviewed the matter to to EdgeHalf disbelief. At first I thought it was because Swirlix was an alpha, as some alphas always spawn in the same locations. But after the launch, players and Other sites It was quickly reported that persistent shiny ovules apply to everyone Shine.
There are some exceptions, though. Charles and I were talking about this new spawning mechanism, and he sent me a clip of a shiny Batrat he encountered – which he barely spotted before it escaped his character and disappeared into the ether. Patrat is one of a handful of extremely skittish Pokémon that will run away when you get too close to it, initiating an escape He does Get rid of the Pokemon in question, even if it’s shiny.
This also applies to any shiny Pokemon you defeated in battle but failed to catch, which isn’t great news for Pokemon with low catch rates. For those, you’ll have to rely on saving, and you can’t disable autosave toUnlike what happened recently Pokemon games. This sounds bad, but I found that the autosave doesn’t trigger as frequently as long as you’re not fast traveling to a new location or catching Pokemon. It is still possible to save directly before a Shiny fight and reload that save if you remove it.
Aside from the escaping Pokémon, the shiny new spawning mechanics are great for a game that’s so heavy on circular, vertical, and on-foot exploration. The shiny one He owns Stay in one place because reaching a Pokemon in order to catch it isn’t always as easy as walking to it. Sometimes, you have to run for a ladder, pass a lot of other people who want to fight you, or run away from a wild Pokemon that’s about to get you. It’s comforting to know that most Shiny Pokemon will be waiting for you to access them on your own terms.
