This is the United Nations appreciation for the number of children who have been killed or injured since Israel began its war with Hamas about 18 months ago.
Last year, NPR appointed the injured Jazan boy, Nimer Sadi Al -Nimr, who was shot by the Israeli army five times while he and his father were gathering from the food that the umbrella dropped outside Gaza City.
This week, the NPR GAZA Anas Baba Nimer is followed down to hear what it was last year.
NPR Rob Schmitz talks to Baba what he learned after contact with Nimer.
