“Myterms” wants to become the new way that dictates our privacy on the web

The author, journalist and Internet Freedom defender has long wants to stop seeking privacy from websites and services and Amnesty International and start telling these things what we will do and will not accept it.

Standard project IEEE P7012,, Which Searls called “Myterms” (similar to “Wi-Fi”), is a project for reading personal privacy conditions. SEARLs write on his blog That myterms has been in business since 2017, and it should be a fully readable version ready later this year, after conference shows at VRM Day and Internet ID workshop (IIW).

The great concept is that you are the first party in every contract with you with online things. Web sites, applications or services you visit are the second party. You get either with a pre -determined contract that you prefer on your device or choose a contract upon your arrival, and tells the site about the information that you will provide and will not provide it to access content or services. It is assumed that the site can work with this contract, or amend itself to meet the conditions, or perhaps tell you that it cannot be done.

The easiest way to set your standards, at first, is to choose something from Customer rumorsWhich was designed on the Lifeleft concept for Creative rumors. Now, there is only one example: #NostalkingWhich allows ads but not with data that can be used in the “targeted advertisement or tracking from the basic service you provided to it. The ban on ads is not treated in the SEARLS summary or IEEE, but it is supposed to be out of myterms – even if myterms seem to reduce the need to block ads.
