My son is a hostage of Hamas: President Trump, you are his last hope

On the morning of October 7, 2023, my family woke up to the sounds of loud sirens in Rehavot, just 15 miles from Tel Aviv.

With the demolition of thousands of rockets on Israel, reports began to have a Hamas incursion into Israeli societies along the Gaza border, accompanied by pointed videos of terrorists who show the terrible massacre.

My son, Nimrod Cohen, 19, was working for the Israeli Defense Forces as a tank defender near Gaza. With the passage of hours without any word of it, she turned to social media to collect more information. This is when she stumbled on a video on YouTube, showing Hamas terrorists wandering in a burning tank. Nimrod placed on the ground, where it is dragged without power and power by an armed terrorist.

On that day, 1,200 people were tortured, raped and slaughtered, and 247 people were taken into account. Nimrod, 20, is still among 59 hostages who are still detained in Gaza.

We later learned that the other three soldiers in Nimrod tank – CPT. Omer Netra, Sergeant. Shaked Dahan and SGT. Oz Daniel – He was killed on the Black Saturday, leaving him the only survivor.

My family has spent the past 18 months in the event of painful uncertainty. We have traveled all over the world to raise awareness of our son and other hostages who are being held in a complex network of tunnels that were built for Hamas under the Gaza Strip. Traveling, we now know that 41 hostages died while they were detention. Seven of the military operations and 147 were issued through the ceasefire deal. Although we are sure to enter such a deal that would lead to the release of terrorists from Israeli prisons, it is a sacrifice that we want to make.

Thanks to the efforts of President Donald Trump and the United States Special Envoy Steve Witkeov, the ceasefire deal was completed earlier this year, allowing some hostages to be issued. During the first stage of the ceasefire, two of the hostages confirmed that Nimrod is still alive. Traveling, we received tragic details: it was classified, tortured and preserved in a cage. His mental health has deteriorated, suffering from skin disease and ear infection due to a lack of medical care.

Israeli hostages, Nimrod Cohen

Despite all his pain and suffering, Neyrod told that these edited hostages convey a simple message to his family: “I’m fine. Don’t worry about me. I love you.”

In the Jewish tradition, everyone is considered a world for themselves. This belief is deeply rooted in Israeli ethics, which emphasizes the importance of ensuring that no person is left. Therefore, when the ceasefire and the equipment of hostilities collapsed last month, we destroyed it because it means that Nimrod’s life continues to suspend in balance, taking into account a volatile and unpredictable conflict conflict.

The United States has long been the leader of the free world. I beg for the Trump administration to stay on the path and continue to exercise diplomatic pressure on all parties concerned, so that our family, the nation of Israel – and all those who believe in freedom – can begin to recover from the suffering caused by this brutal war.

Nimrod Cohen

When Nimrod was a teenager, he visited the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London. We took a picture of Nerud, along with President Trump’s wax character. I pray to God one day, I can take a picture of Nerud with the leader who I think can end his suffering and close this devastating conflict.
