I was frequently suffering from acid reflux. When I talked to my doctor about this, I suggest my hand. However, I was determined not to be on medications. I knew that there are changes in lifestyle that I could make, so I started exploring.
Let me share what I found.
First, let’s talk about what acid islands are actually.
What is acid reflux?
The acid reflux is also indicated as gastroesophagealia (GERD). This happens when stomach acid flows back to the esophagus, which may lead to irritation, heartburn, and anxiety. Depending on the frequency, it can be completely uncomfortable.

A good diet setting
The healthy diet is very important when it comes to managing acid reflux. Various foods will lead to reflux.
Below are some foods that should be avoided:
- Hot foods
- Fatty and fried foods
- Onions and garlic
- Citrus fruits
- Caffeine
- Soft drinks
There are also foods that can help manage acid reflux. These are those that you want to integrate more by eating daily:
- oatmeal
- Green vegetables
- Lean meat
- ginger
- Full granules

Practice the control part
You don’t want to eat too much because it will press the lower esophageal sphincter, causing the carrots to occur. It is better to eat smaller meals frequently. You should eat slowly and chewing well.
Here are some best practices:
- Avoid eating large meals near bedtime
- Manage your weight
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Avoid tobacco and alcohol to enhance the health of the digestive system
By making some changes on your diet and lifestyle, you can often control the esophagus. If you do everything you can and the symptoms continue (or get worse), it may be time to talk to your doctor to see if the drug is the best answer or if there are other medical conditions that need to be treated.
