Important people continue to encourage us to use transit – then circumvent and maintain the same service

In many aspects of life, what you say means much less than what you do.
It is clear that this includes politicians, as people in high positions love to utter all kinds of wonderful things, just to be betrayed by the consequences of their options.

Therefore, it applies to public transport. Politicians at all levels and all persuasion have overcome the drum to improve bus and trains services. Once from time to time, they bath local transportation agencies with cash roaming in the eye to build something bold and new. (Welcome, Green Line!)
At the same time, the current systems of roaming are left, not given the attention they need and deserve.
This leads me to a recent change in Calgary Transit, which coincides with the new spring schedule that came into effect on March 17.

As of the weekend last weekend, CTrains was shortened into two three -car on Saturday, Sunday and Stat Holidays, part of a pilot project.
This is despite the recovery in the use of transit, which recovered to prenatal levels. Calgary Tranzit said in a statement issued last week that the regular weekend passengers were also increasing.
Virtues in the costs, and the safety that was martyred as reasons
However, the agency has calculated that it could pack everyone on shorter trains.
The aforementioned causes include savings in the costs associated with low energy use, reduce maintenance and low tear.
It is also understood that the shortest trains will make it easy for peace staff to cross their functions. (Another case of punishing cyclists who are inadvertently pushing because we cannot deal with what bureaucrats call “non -chaotic transit users”.

Calgary Tranzit said the additional trains will work during events such as Calgary Flames Home Games.
As a frequently used user, I am disappointed about reducing this service – however I don’t blame the Calgary Transit to resort to this.

This is what happens when financial support to cross with political discourse does not coincide with increasing service.
I haven’t seen any unlikely trains at the end of last week. (Your miles may differ: There were reports on the trains loaded on social media.)
However, there were some difficulties called by the inconvenience.
The trains were busy because people with children and bicycles were facing a maneuver problem. And because people were screaming through a number of doors before, I felt as if it were taking longer to passengers at the level and heat.

For those who use navigation aid, high -full trains can always become a problem for them.
Limiting the number of cars under operation also raises the possibility of future growth on weekends. On the one hand, officials say, “Take the transit”, but on the other hand, they also say, “We will not indicate you.”
Attention to the aging of the CTrain fleet
I was a little anxious at the beginning of the desire to reduce weariness.
But we must remember the oldest CTrain cars that are still on the date of operation as much as the operation of the system in 1981.
“Calgary Transit has a partnership with Siemens to introduce 31 S200 LRVS (” mask “trains) over the next few years, with ongoing negotiations for nine other units,” read a 2023 update to routeahadLong -term transportation plan in Calgary.

“The first production of 15 LRVS is currently with the first units to start arriving in 2024, with the second order to start arriving in 2026. The delivery and assignment of these forty train cars will allow these Calgary Transit to retire fully retirement from the original U2 models that have served the city since the eighties of the last century and to provide an increasing training service of four reliable cars.”
This last thing made me Snaker, and I see how the trains become shorter.
And why did we not buy more than 40 cars to calculate the growth?
Politicians say that they want us to leave our cars at home whenever we can, even for activities that go beyond work and school, however, transportation services simultaneously are bound by restrictions that prevent them from helping us to reach these goals.
The introduction of the dual -car CTrains is just another in the list of large and small things that, cumulatively, makes public transport less desirable and useful for use than it can or should be.
