
Lily Collins is excited to return as Emily Cooper in the upcoming fifth season of the series Emily in Paris.
During a frank conversation with additionalthe actress spoke about her early doubts about her future Netflix He hits.
In doing so, she admitted that the longevity of the show was not guaranteed when it premiered in October 2020.
“The show was delayed,” Collins explained, recalling the uncertainty surrounding its launch.
“It came up in the time of COVID-19, and we weren’t really sure what the future would be in TV or film shooting. Will we be able to get back together?”
Considering how far the series has come, Collins said reaching Season 5 still feels surreal.
“And so, I think, as Ashley said, just saying five is crazy…” she added, referring to her co-star Ashley Park, who plays Mindy Chen on the show.
Collins went on to express her appreciation for the cast, crew, and streaming platform that helped the series thrive.
“We’re so grateful to have all of us together and revisit these characters and work with this crew and Netflix,” she said.
Ashley Park echoed these sentiments, admitting that she is still amazed by the series’ global impact.
“I can’t believe” how big the show has become, she said.
“The fact that Netflix is global, and the fact that people from all countries are probably coming to us now and feeling so connected to these stories and characters, and feeling universal in this way, is really special,” Park concluded.
