“La Shampoo” experience, six months later

The shift to washing my hair was supposed to continue with baking soda and apple cider vinegar in only one month, but I could not stop.

Six months have passed since I stopped using shampoo. The experiment started when my editor asked if I was going to try to “not only stools” for January. She reluctantly agreed, along with Margaret Badour, indulged in the world of very alternative hair care. Our experience resulted in a “no shampoo experience”. While Margaret became cold Türkiye for a month, I continued to “wash” my hair, with baking soda and “air conditioning”, with apple cider vinegar.

I never dreamed that I was still doing it at the beginning of July, but there, I turned strong into a “non -stool” method without any intention to return. I loved a lot of things on this topic, and this is what I told about people who feel curious about my strange habit in her hair.

There was no almost modification period for me

… which I think is common for people with truly thick hair, or the hair is washed more than once or twice a week. It may take it from people with thinner, more compact hair to adapt, so do not jump to conclusions very quickly about whether it works or not.

It was my greatest psychological punishment and overwhelmed the scent of the salad that wears the bathroom clothes while I poured vinegar over my head (don’t worry – it is dissipated immediately and there is no remaining smell).

My hair is healthier and more manageable as I avoid shampoo

My hair becomes less oily and I can go longer between washing, usually from four to five days. It is softer, more convenient, and less frightening than before. I have a fewer bad hair days and I can get the loose natural curls that I love with a little coconut oil in my wet hair.

There was only twice that used natural shampoo instead of soda and vinegar: when I traveled to Honduras and Mexico to write tasks this spring. Either way I thought it was better not to have to explain a strange white powder in my luggage. I saw a big difference after washing with shampoo. My hair was dry, equipped and looked over two days. I also noticed that my scalp was itching, perhaps because the shampoo stripped natural oils.

I love how No ‘pooo is suitable for zero waste

Within six months, I passed a quarter of the cardboard from the baking soda and was only in the middle of the road through the same vinegar jar. There was no empty plastic shampoo and air -conditioned bottles for recycling, nor the host associated with hair care products that I relied on to tame my hair.

If the No ‘POO method has sparked your interest for a while, why don’t you try it? You may be surprised by the result of the result. This is what I did:

Measure 2 tablespoons of baking soda in a glass jar 500ml/1 liter. Wet hair. Fill the jar with water and move it to solve baking soda. Pour on the head and rub into the hair. rinse. Measure 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in the same jar. Add water, pour on the head, and rinse it almost immediately.

This recipe for long hair. If you have short to medium, use a teaspoon of baking soda and vinegar in one cup of water. If your hair is not clean enough by drying it, use more soda next time.

You can also use white vinegar. Its smell is faster than ACV, but does not remain after rinsing and drying. If the smell is bothering you, add a few drops of essential oil (such as lavender) to the water water mixture before the “air conditioning” step.

I also heard Jodar flour is used as an alternative to baking soda. It is a bit cute on the scalp of soda and leaves the hair gentle and shiny, but be sure to dry it well and dry your hair completely.
