Kishi noted due to the lack of re-inspection

Today the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced that Maître Saladier Inc. in Quebec, Canada, recalled 6,000 pounds of Lorraine Quiche products containing pork that had not been submitted for re-inspection for imports into the United States.

Lorraine Quiche items were produced on April 9 and 17.

There is concern about quiche in consumers’ freezers due to its long shelf life, which lasts until 2028.

The affected product was shipped to distributors in Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, North Carolina, and Texas and then distributed more widely.

The following product is subject to recall:

  • 19.8-pound cardboard boxes containing “Lorraine Quiche (with Ham) La Madeleine” in plastic-wrapped metal trays.

Individual quiches are not labeled.

Products subject to the recall do not carry the USDA inspection mark. Affected products have expiration dates of April 8, 2028 and April 16, 2028.

The problem was discovered during FSIS’s routine import monitoring activities.

There have been no confirmed reports of illness due to consumption of these products. Anyone who is concerned about an illness or injury should contact their health care provider. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products must be disposed of or returned to the place of purchase.
