King Charles and Queen Camilla cooperated to support her literary initiative, the Queen Reading Chamber, at a special reception in Clarence House.

The event celebrated the launch of a new medal, which is a medal for reading the Queen, which will get to know individuals who champion books and stories in their communities.

Her husband, King Charles, the passionate reader and a long -standing literacy, joined the Duchess of Gloster and the famous authors.

During the reception, Her Majesty watched the design of the new medal and met the jury, which will choose the first recipient, to be announced in 2026.

The event also celebrated the 250th anniversary of Jin Austin, with guests capable of displaying a selection of items of Jin Austin House and Royal Collection Trust.

As a grandmother, the Queen understands the importance of reading reading and writing in creating life opportunities. She visited schools, libraries, and plans to read the workplace and prisons to see the work of adult literacy plans.

Before becoming a queen, Camilla was a sponsor of several literacy organizations, including national literacy confidence, the first story, Cram Beanstalk, and Booktrust.

The Queen’s Reading Chamber initiative started during the national lock when Her Majesty published a list of her favorite book recommendations.

After the positive responses, the Instagram account was launched in January 2021 as a community space for book lovers. Now an independent charity, the reading hall launched Queens Podcast and an annual festival, currently in its second year.
