Kim Kardashian has filed a new lawsuit after suffering emotional distress.
As fans know, last February, a man named Evan Cantu, who is based in New York, sued Kardashian because she allegedly began posting photos of him on social media when she intended to post photos of a Texas man with the same name who was convicted of murder in 2001 and sentenced to death.
However, in November, a judge sided with her by dismissing all of Cantu’s claims.
Now, according to the latest report of Us WeeklyKim Kardashian demanded that the man cover her legal bills, including $145,000 in legal fees and other costs, which she spent on lawyers to defend herself, in a new lawsuit on Tuesday, December 16.
It was reported that Kardashian’s lead lawyer, Emil Petrosyan, was paid $900 per hour for his work on the case while another partner, Alina Gatto, was paid $600 per hour.
Kardashian’s lawyer explained:[Kardashian] “She played an important role in Mr. Cantu’s defense.”
“Over the course of approximately ten days in February 2024, [Kardashian] Her team posted a series of “stories” related to Mr. Cantu — about 16 in all — on [Kardashian’s] Instagram account. Of these 16 stories, one story published two days before Mr. Cantu’s execution mistakenly used a photo of the plaintiff in this suit, a New York-based project manager also named Ivan Cantu.
