
Kelly Clarkson shared how her children are doing following the death of their father and ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.
For those who do not know, Blackstock, who was a talent manager by profession, died of skin cancer at the age of 48 after battling it for three years on August 7, 2025.
Melanoma is a serious skin cancer that develops in melanocytes, the pigment-producing cells that give skin its color. It has the ability to grow quickly and spread to any organ in the body.
The 43-year-old American singer, songwriter and TV personality conducted a Q&A session on the band’s official YouTube channel. kelly clarkson show, One of her fans asked her to reveal one thing she does that makes her happy.
“My kids, they’re 9 and 11,” said Clarkson, who shares two children, daughter River and son Remington “Remy” with the late Blackstock, “Snuggle,” adding, “My kids, they’re 9 and 11. Kind of in that special little fun phase where they can wipe their butts, but they’re still young enough to love cuddling and love cuddling.”
“It’s been a lot going on for our family lately, so I let my kids sleep with me for a bit,” she shared.
“It’s my dogs, my kids and me. It’s a lot. It’s been really special, because…the conversations you have during that time are so nice. So that’s probably my favorite time of the day,” she explained, a mother of two.
It is worth noting that Clarkson and Blackstock married in 2013, but filed for divorce in 2023 due to “irreconcilable differences,” which was finalized in 2022.
