
Kate Winslet shares her honest opinion about the ever-declining beauty standards in Hollywood and the rest of the world thanks to social media.
Sharing what she would think if she saw someone saving money to get Botox or other things they put in their lips, she said, “It’s terrifying. I think, ‘No, not you!’ Why?”

“My favorite thing is when your hands get old,” the Oscar winner told the outlet. “This is life in your hands. Some of the most beautiful women I know are over 70 and what bothers me is that young women have no idea what beauty actually is.”
She noted that people who pursue such standards are “afraid of being one.” [themselves]”.
“What is the idea of perfection that people aspire to? I blame social media and its impact on mental health,” she said. “It’s devastating. If a person’s self-esteem is so tied to their appearance, it’s scary, and it’s confusing because I have moments where I think it’s better, when I look at actresses at events wearing the clothes they want.”
Paying tribute to fellow actresses such as Helen Mirren, she said: “It’s so diverse. Some make choices to be themselves, others do everything they can not to be themselves.”
Kate Winslet commented: “And do they know what they’re doing? Ignoring one’s health is terrifying. It bothers me now more than ever. It’s a complete mess out there.”
