Juliana Parajas
Administrative assistant
For more than two decades, NASA’s mission has supported a profession based on service, perseverance and gratitude. Whether coordinating tasks, solving problems, or ears lending, Barajas plays a vital role in helping its team to maintain safety and excellence.
“When I was young, I never imagined work in NASA. I dreamed of studying mechanical engineering but I didn’t get the opportunity,” Parajas said.
Instead, I got a certificate at computer secretariat studies. She said, “I am grateful to provide an opportunity to prove that I can do any job I gave me,” she said.
In 2009, Barajas won the Secretary Excellence Award, a recognition that she called her highlighting her career. But for Barajas, PRIDE is not reserved for big moments alone. “I am proud of everything I do every day,” she said. “If I can help those around me, I have achieved my duty.”
Her professional life also taught her invaluable personal lessons. She said, “I learned to be a good listener and to be myself.” “I also learned to be the trick and not to give up. I am grateful for the presence of great people around me who do not look at me when I call for answers.”
As NASA continues to prepare for the future moon tasks, Barajas hopes to transfer courage, flexibility and design to persevere through challenges. Encourage the next generation to seek help when needed and speaking when it is more important.
“I love my job and want to continue to support my family in NASA as long as I am capable.” “I promise you to continue to be the person I am.”
