Jony Ive says he wants to “make us happy”

At the Openai developer in San Francisco on Monday, CEO Sam Altman and the former Jony IVE designer spoke in mysterious terms about the “family of devices” that the couple is currently developing.

“Like phones and computers, there is something new to do,” Altman said on stage with Eve. The duo emphasized that Openai is working on more than one device product, but more accurate details, starting from use to the specifications, remains under the winding.

“The devices are difficult,” Altman said in a media briefing. “I think we have a chance to do something amazing, but it will take some time.”

Eve said that his team has created ideas “15 to 20 to 20 convincing products” on a trip to find the appropriate type of devices to focus the company’s efforts.

“I don’t think we have an easy relationship with our technology at the present time,” Ev said. “Instead of seeing artificial intelligence as an extension of these challenges, I see them in a completely different way.” IVE explained that one of the reasons why it wants to design a device that Amnesty International works with Openai is to convert the relationship that people currently enjoy for the devices they use every day.

Although IVE acknowledged the possibility of increasing productivity of artificial intelligence, efficiency does not seem to be its primary goal with these devices. Instead, he hopes to bring more social goodness to the world. He said the devices “must make us happy, verified, calm, less worried and less connected.”

The report indicated earlier that Openai is planning to manufacture a new category of devices that do not resemble a phone or laptop. In a recent examination of Openai’s employees, Altman hinted that the product will be aware of the user’s vicinity and daily experiences, according to Wall Street Magazine. The device may be without a screen and depends on inputs of cameras and microphones.

Openai did not say publicly when you plan to launch devices, although late 2026 may be the target launch, according to the Financial Times. The publication recently mentioned that the development of the device was Through technical issues.
