Jennifer Lopez recently spoke with Howard Stern about the 2002 film’s rejection unfaithfulWhich starred Richard Gere and Diane Lane.
The film’s director, Adrian Lyne, offered Lopez the role, but she ultimately decided against it because of the script.
“The script wasn’t good,” Lopez said, though she admitted that Leanne “made it great.” Despite her decision, Lopez admitted she still wonders what could have been.
“It haunts me a little bit,” she admitted. “It’s like the one I turned down, it was like, ‘Why did you turn down working with Adrian Lyne? What were you thinking?’
At the time, lopez was juggling a busy music and acting career, with recent releases such as Wedding planner and Angel eyes. The movie unfaithful It went on to earn $119 million worldwide and earned Diane Lane an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.
Lopez’s decision to refuse unfaithful It’s especially notable given the buzz she generated for her supporting role in Bill Condon’s film Spider Woman Kisswhich would likely earn her an Oscar nomination.
