Transformational leadership for the best IEEE How do I describe my vision for 2025. The work in “Oneee” surrounds the idea of this greatest ambition.
Together, we have the opportunity to enhance calm cooperation that enables us to be much more than our individual parts. While the technical efforts and focus of the institution are essential in our professional success and progress in technology, I believe that there is also a need to cooperate in a broader, strategic and effective way, especially to support the next generation. This is a vital to ensuring IEEE still is an integral part of the future.
IEEE is unique not only for its previous achievements, but also for its huge potential to be a pioneer in technology progress for humanity on a global scale. I would like to feel IEEE and its members that they are able to act on our mission. The organization brings together prominent experts who lead great efforts in education, public policy, climate change, history and human technology. These are critical general inevitable activities where our collective influence is necessary.
Our individual motives – based on the diverse stages of our career, our focus, and our areas of interest – may differ – but we all share a unified task. Personally, I see myself an integral part of many professional houses in the framework of “One IEE” – after I work to enhance technology for humanity, yet it serves all distinguished societies and views.
Success a journey
My IEEE trip started when I was in the first university stage Liola Marimaont UniversityIn Los Angeles, where I first discovered my artistic community. As a graduate student in CaltechMy experience has evolved. I was driven by new motives and opportunities, including my first paper, attending IEEE conference, and the initial participation of volunteers with technical societies.
As a professor in electrical engineering in San Diego UniversityMy city’s professional home provided me with communications and support new driving opportunities.
Throughout my journey, I became very appreciated by the unique IEEE power: the wide range of opportunities to contribute a useful way to the engineering profession with the help of others through our technical resources.
This is what continued to push me, whether it was a volunteer for my local department and as an official in a society, attending conferences, publishing, or working on the progress of public policy, or playing a leadership role in the progress of accreditation criteria for university engineering programs on behalf of IEEE.
One of the greatest joints of work as a president is the opportunity to contribute to the global and strategic progress of our artistic societies, which helps to raise their importance on a wider scale.
A new strategic plan
the IEEE strategic plan 2025-2030 provides a North star for us to act on our long-term mission to enhance technology for humanity. Along with the fixed task of the organization, values, and basic values, the plan will direct the organization’s priorities over the next five years.
I am pleased to share strategic goals from 2025 to 2030, which aims to enhance IEEE position as a reliable technology leader. These goals focus on leading moral and innovative technological progress, enhancing multidisciplinary cooperation, inspiring future generations of technicians, engaging the audience more effectively, and supporting technology specialists throughout their career.
From now until 2030, IEEE will:
● Progress in science and technology as a leading source of information for research, development, standards and general policy.
● Pushing technological innovation while promoting scientific integrity, moral development and technology use.
● Providing opportunities for cooperation between specializations related to technology, research, and knowledge participation through industry, academic circles and government.
● Inspiration of intellectual curiosity, support for discovery and invention to involve the next generation of technology creators.
● Expanding public awareness of the important role played by engineering, science and technology all over the world.
● Empowering technology professionals in their career through continuous education, guidance, networks, and lifelong participation.
Working in the next stage continues, and is designed to guide the organization in collecting goals in tactical goals to ensure the compatibility of organizational unity efforts with the comprehensive IEE strategy. Alignment of the strategic planning of the organizational unit with the broader IEE strategic plan is an important next step.
By fulfilling its strategic plan, IEEE will continue to enhance an open, comprehensive, and free cooperative environment, and will continue to maintain strength, reach the vitality of our organization for future generations and ensure our vitality as a general assembly 501 (c) (3).
These strategic goals are well in line with my priority of “Working for IEEE One” as president. The commitment to all of you – volunteers and members who are the heart and spirit of IEE – is to enable the success of our artistic societies, globally and locally, by sharing and promoting technical knowledge to enhance the lives of our professional organs.
I am deeply driven by the chance of transformational leadership – not only for myself but for all of us. Together, we can enable success and form a brighter future for IEEE and the world.
I am looking to work with all of you to take advantage of IEEE’s strength to increase the impact of our global mission on enhancing technology for humanity.
