7-Zip is one of the best archive managers of Windows, as it offers a long list of features. However, I recently encountered Peazip, an open source archive manager, and I find it very similar to 7-Zip. Let’s compare both the tool so that you can determine which of it must be used on your computer.
User interface
The first thing you look at when you open the application of what is the user interface, and I must say that the user interface in Peazip is the best of all archive managers who have been used to now. Instead of the appearance of the traditional archive manager, the PEZIP user interface gives a file manager. In fact, if possible, I will definitely replace the Windows file manager with Peazip.
At the top, you will find three main options – add, convert and extract. It allows you to select the option to add file archiving, and the option allows you to transfer a file format, and you allow you to extract the archive file. All of these options support the clouds and collapse facility.

The first option allows you to check the integrity of the archive file and discover the problem that prevents successful extraction or archiving the file. The second option, on the other hand, allows you to delete a permanent file or folder from your computer.
7-Zip has a very typical archive. The first thought that comes to my mind when I used 7-Zip was that I was using an application from the Windows 95 era. The buttons, lines and everything else give it a manifestation of reactionary application, and perhaps this is what makes 7-ZIP unique compared to all other modern archive managers.
Like Peazip, you will find options to add, extract, test and delete at the top of 7-Zip. In addition to these four options, there are also two others-Coba and move-both of them are self-similar. The drag and drop function is missing in 7-Zip. I really hope this developers will add this soon, as it makes adding files faster.
Supported file formats
The archive manager will not be useful if he is not able to convert the file to the format you want. For this reason it is important to be familiar with all the formats supported by the archive manager before choosing one. Fortunately, 7-ZIP and PEZIP support a long list of formats.
You can use the 7-ZIP archive manager to create archives in 7Z, Bzip2, Tar, WIM, GZIP and Zip. When it comes to unloading, 7-ZIP allows you to extract more than 30 files for files, including in popular format such as ISO, Rar, FAT, EXT and NTFS.
Peazip allows you to create archives in 10 formats, including 7Z, Arc, Brotli, Bz2, GZ, PEA, Tar, WIM, Zstandard and Zip. Surprisingly, you can extract more than 200 types of archive files using Peazip.

The safety is often the most ignorant aspect of the archive manager, but given the number of data violations these days, it is important to use an archive manager that comes with the latest safety features. 7-ZIP provides a strong AES-256 encryption with 7Z and ZIP formats. To increase safety, you also have an option to encrypt each of the file data and its name.
Peazip has a feature more than 7-Zip when it comes to security. In addition to AES-256 encryption, Peazip supports additional encryption models such as Twofish and Serpent. Moreover, it provides some other safety features, including encrypted password manager and 2FA file protection.
Advanced features
In addition to pressure and pressure removal functions, archive managers offer many other features as well. The PEAZIP archive manager can be used to divide and join files. There is a safe deletion option that you can use to permanently delete files from your computer. You can use the password manager to store files safely, and there is also an option to compress or extract multiple files once.
Unfortunately, 7-Zip does not provide any additional features like Peazip. The only logo of this program is to help you compress and extract files.
Therefore, which archive manager should you use? It is one of these questions that depend on your use. However, if you ask me, I recommend 7-Zip. It has the best pressure percentage among all the archive managers you used. I also do not have any difficulty regarding the supported formats because my work is mainly revolving around the ZIP, 7Z and RAR files. Moreover, 7-ZIP is very easy on the CPU due to its minimum design.
However, if you are working with a variety of archive files and wanting advanced safety features, PEZIP may be a great alternative 7-Zip.
